Littlest Black Kitty - "Princess"

One other thing that I must jot down before I forget.

We are a gaming family. My husband is a software engineer and he writes, develops, and designs computer games. And it just so happens that we play a lot of games at home. The kids come by it naturally. Our six year old is a genius at computer games. It was a proud, proud moment when she first beat her daddy at Mario Kart. She's also finished Super Mario Galaxy - something neither my husband or I have yet to do.

So anyway, we also all play Diablo. Yeah yeah, so it's a 'dark' game. But hey! It's great for hand/eye coordination. And reading quests. (Shhhh we play World of Warcraft too.) Ok, back to the point. My daughter just suddenly has a thought the other evening while not actually playing the game and says the following.

"Dad, I need to destroy Mephisto's Soulstone on the Hellforge and find Izual on the Plains of Despair."

And a few days ago, both our girls were playing together and their conversations went like this:

T: "Ding Dong"
B: "Come in!"
T: "Hello."
B: "The Order welcomes you!"

Okay, so if you play Diablo those will make sense to you. If not, then not so much. But trust me. From a six year old, it's FUNNY!

It's about time that I put up a personal post. So I'm just going to launch right into it.

We got another cat. Another, in this case, meaning additional. Here's our first cat, Tivoli. She came to us from my in-laws. They travel quite a bit and so it only made sense for her to stay permanently with us. She's a great cat. She talks to us. She climbs on us. But she's not a cuddler and she hates being held. My husband is her favorite person. She runs to the door when she hears him come in. She keeps us company at dinner - surveying the plates and what people are doing. She sits with us on the sofa. She also loves playing with tissue and anything really that you wave around in front of her.


This is our new addition, Jack. My husband is still a bit miffed about him. He didn't want another cat, although he admits that Jack is fine. He just didn't like me saying okay to him without a three week discussion prior to us adopting him. She he refers to Jack as MY cat. "YOUR cat is meowing again." That sort of thing. Jack came to us from our oldest daughter's best friend. She has to give up several of her felines - for reasons that are still rather unclear to me. However, she was serious about giving them up and she asked me if I would take one. Jack was the one that she determined was better suited for us. He's very friendly, very affectionate, he loves kids, he IS a cuddler, and he loves being held and carried around. But he talks a lot. And that annoys my husband currently. He'll get better. He's used to being outside. But right now, he meows when he sees anybody going out or coming in. Or when he has a thought. But he's SO CUTE!!!!!! How could anyone not love this guy?


We also have been trying to research homeschooling curriculums. We need something more structured and I think I've finally found something that will work for our six year old and that our four year old can grow into.

And I've been busy trying to get my blogging in order. It's such a creative outlet for me, you don't even know. Before we moved back down to Texas, we lived in New Hampshire where we were pretty much isolated for the time we were there. When the girls were born, that reduced our social time even more. The snow six months out of the year made it so that I rarely went out. Well I've finally found something that I can do to help get my mind active again (with little kids with me 24/7, that time that hubby is at work I feel like mashed potatoes).

I've also reached 86 people that "heart me" on Etsy! Yay! If you don't know, that's another of my creative outlets. I make stuff. Schtuff! I love creating and crafting. Currently my Etsy shop has my handmade soaps, but I hope to branch out at some point and list some other things that I do. As of this point, other than my soaps, as soon as I finish making something (whether it be crochet, knitting, felt work, bead work, etc.), it goes out the door to a friend, family member, friend of a friend, yadda yadda. Meaning that I haven't been able to stock up on anything. If I make it, they will come.... and take it with them when they leave! lol


The other thing, and this is pretty much why I haven't yet made very many personal posts, is that I have several blogs. My first blog pretty much has all my personal stuff, lots of family pics, you name it. My second blog is for my crafting and Etsying. My third blog is a review and contest blog. I'm desperately trying to figure out how to consolidate. Having three blogs isn't really working for me anymore. I'd love to mash them all together but 1) I have too many personal photos on the one to share with everyone, and 2) I have too many contest entries and reviews to clog up my Etsy blog. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm wide open to hearing it.

Anyway, that's it for now.
