Happy Thanksgiving, Tublets, and Crystals
Thursday, November 24, 2005
In addition to our Thanksgiving dinner (which we had around 3:00 pm), here are some other things that I've been cooking up. Lavender bath bombs (the pinkish-purples ones) and green tea and cucumber bath bombs (the green ones). I started out making these 2 ounce 'tablets' but I didn't like the size and the fact that they sort of became squat while drying. So I switched and made these 1.5 ounces and they look and 'feel' much better. My ingredients are as follows:
baking soda
citric acid
epsom salts
goat's milk powder
corn starch
shea butter
jojoba oil
fragrance oil
FDA approved colorant
These actually felt really good on my skin while I was stirring them up by hand to get all the little clumps out. They have to dry for a couple of days, then I'll test them out and see if they fizz like they're supposed to.
I also made a batch of lavender bath salts. The picture is of the salts spread out over a sheet pan. They have to dry out before packaging. My ingredients are as follows:
epsom salts
dead sea salts
borax
baking soda
glycerin
fragrance oil
FDA approved colorant
Again, these felt really good while stirring around to remove clumps. My hands are really soft and my nails even feel and appear to be buffed. Instant manicure without going to a salon!
