Holiday Spruce Soap

Formulating my recipe, gathering my supplies, and premeasuring everything last night enabled me to grab a smidgen of time this morning to put some soap together. I cut back on the total weight of ingredients so that I could see if I could get a solid block of soap without having to do a whole lot of trimming afterward. My ingredients are as follows:

extra virgin olive oil
palm oil
coconut oil
castor oil
fragrance oil

FDA approved colorant

I attempted to do a tri-color swirl in the pot just before pouring the colored batter into the mold. This involved removing two portions of soap batter just before the batter got really thick, coloring them in separate bowls, and then adding them back into the main portion of batter (which I left uncolored). I gently stirred a couple of times and then let the pouring of the batter from the pot into the mold do the majority of the swirl work for me. I'm hoping this turns out because this is a much easier way of adding color than trying to stir it in while IN the mold. I also dripped a little excess colored soap on the top just so it wouldn't go to waste. As you can see in the photo, Teagan zipped around the corner while I was taking the pic to see what was going on.
